D1 Grand Prix 2005 USA vs Japan – Day 2 Qualifying and Practice A day of practice and qualifying for both the U.S. and Japanese drivers. The intense battle puts the drivers against themselves to qualify for the top 32 and then practice sessions for the rest of the afternoon.

D1 Grand Prix 2005 USA vs Japan – Driver Search and Practice The first day three for a long weekend of great drifting from U.S. and Japan Drivers. Teams and drivers got a chance to test their cars and drift the track at Irwindale speedway.

D1 Grand Prix 2005 Kazama wins in Kei Office Silvia! The first win of the 2005 D1 seasons goes to Kazama with an outstanding win over Imamura. Many good matches were seen in true close tandem drifting.

Febuary 2005 – the first day of qualifying took place at Irwindale Speedway. Teams from Japan and U.S. prepared their vehicles to practice and qualify for the followind day’s competition. Some U.S. drivers earned their D1 licenses the day of to be able to run in qualifying.

D1GP 2005 Round 1 Pits – this gallery features all the drift cars in the pits, along with models, car show vehicles and vendor booths. Tarzan Yamada gave drifting demos and entertained the crowd with the models.

D1 Grand Prix US vs. Japan Pits at GT Live California Speedway Here’s a behind the scenes look at some of the Japanese D1 drift cars in the pits, from the D1GP 2004 event in December 2004 at GT Live.

December 2004, the D1 Grand Prix held a U.S. vs. Japan match, along side with GT Live at California Speedway. The GT Live event featured Japanese race cars from the JGTC series and held races through out the day and ending at night. The night event featured the drift cars in the D1GP

February 2004 is the second visit of the D1 Grand Prix from the land of the rising sun! Drifting is officially the new craze of the U.S. with many excited fans around this country attending this event. Drifting is here to stay… One more time! Photos by Julius Mayo Jr.
