Formula Drift is celebrating their 10 year anniversary, and the level of competition between drivers has reached new heights. There is more smoke, horsepower and some of the closest proximity tandem runs to date. This year FD decided to make a change in the course layout to one of the most accident prone tracks on the drift circuit -The Gauntlet. Doing away with the center cross section left the drivers with mixed reactions. The outer most bank of the course had a sticky tar layer that caused many drivers to spin out during practice and competition runs. The main event was sold out to capacity. The crowd was fairly calm for Jersey until JR spun out and caused Daigo to smash into him. You could feel the energy during the Final Four.
